A wallpaper job in St. James Plantation begins at a staffed gate. The property owners association's Resident Handbook, updated in March 2024, says the POA staffs all gates and runs QuickPass, an electronic access system built on radio-frequency identification. It names gates including the Main Gate and the Regency Gate. What the handbook leaves out is a published procedure for contractors.
Because of that gap, we arrange the gate as part of booking. Before your date is final, we agree on how the installer is cleared, whether that means you add us on your end or we follow another route the POA accepts. On install day we call before we arrive.
The town's limits take in the Plantation and also reach past its borders, so tell us on the form whether your street sits inside the gates.
Interior work should not need the POA's sign-off. The handbook's architectural review covers site plans, exterior building plans and changes to an existing dwelling, and we found nothing on interiors.
The walls themselves are young. The Census Bureau's 2020-2024 American Community Survey puts the median St. James home at 2011, with nearly four in five built since 2000. Drywall that has never held paper gets a primer or sizing coat before the first strip.
Town Hall sits on NC 211 at the town's northern edge, about 35 road miles from our Judges Road shop.
Most of our customers already own their paper, picked themselves or by a designer. Still choosing? Give us the pattern's repeat and we tell you how many rolls it takes. A single W-2 company handles the job from estimate to cleanup, and nothing is handed to a subcontractor. Peel-and-stick stays off our list. Questions before booking go to a person, because we answer the phone. Every step of the method is laid out where we explain how our wallpaper installation works.
Any old paper taken down and the wall repaired
Primer or sizing matched to your paper
A plumb line set for the first strip, never read off a corner
Seams matched to the pattern all the way around
Inside corners cut by hand, never wrapped
A look at the finished room together, then cleanup

The install day has one extra dependency: the gate. Clearance is arranged when you book, so the installer, the ladders and the pasting table come through in one trip on the agreed morning. If you need to add us to an access list yourself, we tell you what to send and by when. Should the gate's staffed hours affect an early start, the arrival time is set around them. Inside the house, the work is ordinary for a young home. Builder drywall usually has nothing to strip, so the prep time goes to priming rather than removal.

A crew stuck at the Main Gate loses your morning. We work out how our installer is cleared while the date is still being set, and you know your part, if any, well ahead.

The person hanging your paper is our W-2 employee, insured under our $2M general liability and workers' comp. Nobody unfamiliar turns up at the gate because a job was passed to a subcontractor.

We are a second-generation wallpaper company that also paints, and we belong to the Wallpaper Installers Association. Inside corners are cut by hand, never wrapped around, so the pattern breaks cleanly.

Wallpaper estimates come back instantly, and the quote is the quote we honor. Our 1-year workmanship guarantee covers the installation, and military households take 10% off.
From the first conversation to the finished room.
01Request the instant estimate and say whether the house is inside the Plantation gates. Gate clearance only comes into the plan for houses behind them.
02Bookings usually run two to three weeks out. In that window we agree how the installer gets through and what, if anything, you send the POA.
03We call before we arrive. Never-papered drywall is primed or sized, then the paper goes up with seams matched and corners hand-cut.
04You see the finished walls with the installer before cleanup ends. Our 1-year workmanship guarantee covers the installation.
Wallpaper estimates come back instantly. In a St. James home the price follows the paper and the walls, and young drywall often has no old layers to strip. The figure depends on:
Wall area and ceiling height, including any two-story foyer or stairwell
The paper: grasscloth, vinyl and traditional papers each hang their own way, and unpasted papers hang differently
The pattern repeat, which decides waste at each seam
Primer or sizing on drywall that has never been papered
Any old paper to remove, plus wall repair
Any POA contractor fee will be stated before you book. The quote is the quote we honor. Military households receive 10% off. Paper you buy elsewhere stays off our bill. Not ordered yet? Give us the pattern, and we count rolls from its repeat before you spend anything on paper.

Repainting the rooms around your new paper, booked through the same office that schedules the installer.

Trade-only papers and hard-to-find patterns ordered through us, with roll counts worked out first.

From our Wilmington base, we serve St. James and the surrounding Brunswick County area, plus the rest of the coastal Carolinas corridor.
Tell us about the room and your paper. Your wallpaper estimate comes back instantly.
