The Wall Question Comes First
Drywall or factory panel? That answer changes the prep, the hours and sometimes whether paper belongs on the wall at all. We settle it on the first call, so your quote fits the wall you have.

Rocky Point is small on paper. The Census Bureau's 2020-2024 American Community Survey counts about 416 housing units in the Rocky Point census-designated place, and with a sample that size every figure carries a wide margin. One figure still stands out. Close to half of those homes, an estimated 192, are mobile or manufactured homes, and most of the rest are detached houses built on site.
Those two groups put different walls in front of an installer. A site-built house usually has taped drywall. We paper it the way we paper drywall in Wilmington: old paper off, repairs made, the surface primed or sized, then the pattern hung. A manufactured home is often finished with factory panels, commonly vinyl-faced gypsum, with battens hiding the seams. Paste may not bond to that vinyl face, and each batten breaks the run of a pattern.
Whether our crew papers manufactured-home panels has not been settled yet. Until it is, the work this page describes is in site-built Rocky Point houses. If your home is manufactured, call us before you order paper, and you get a plain yes or no on your walls.
Rocky Point is an unincorporated community in Pender County, at Exit 408 on I-40, about 16 road miles from our Judges Road shop.
Our installers are W-2 employees of a second-generation wallpaper company, and none of the work is handed off to a subcontractor. Most customers have their paper before they reach out, picked by them or by a designer. Still shopping? We figure the roll count from the pattern repeat so the order comes out right the first time. We don't hang peel-and-stick. Our wallpaper installation page lays out the method from start to finish.
Existing paper stripped and the wall repaired first
Primer or sizing matched to your paper
A level plumb line to start from, not the corner
Seams matched along the full pattern repeat
Inside corners hand-cut, never wrapped
A walk through the finished room with you, then cleanup

Here the wall type sets the first hour. In a detached site-built house the wall is usually drywall, and the day runs like any drywall job: strip, patch, prime, hang. A manufactured-home panel is a different surface. Its vinyl face may need a liner paper or a bonding primer before decorative paper will hold, and the battens over each seam have to come off, be filled flush or be worked around. A panel that flexes or has lifted along a seam may not suit paper at all, and we would say so before you buy rolls. Pick your home type when you request the estimate, and the quote will name which of these applies.

Drywall or factory panel? That answer changes the prep, the hours and sometimes whether paper belongs on the wall at all. We settle it on the first call, so your quote fits the wall you have.

If you haven't ordered, we count rolls from the pattern repeat. In a manufactured home, the wall question gets answered before that count, so nobody ends up holding paper that can't go up.

Each inside corner is cut by hand and never wrapped. We're a second-generation wallpaper company and members of the Wallpaper Installers Association, and every installer on the job is on our own payroll.

Rocky Point sits about 16 road miles from our Judges Road shop. We call before we arrive, and the quote is the quote we honor. Weekdays from 9 to 5, a person picks up at (910) 679-9794.
From the first conversation to the finished room.
01Request the instant estimate and choose site-built or manufactured home. Unsure which you have? Pick not sure, and we'll help you tell drywall from a factory panel by phone.
02Haven't ordered paper yet? We work out the roll count from your pattern repeat. Our installation calendar usually runs two to three weeks ahead, so choose a date with that in mind.
03We call before we arrive. Any earlier paper is stripped and the wall patched and primed before strip one is hung, plumb to a level line.
04Before cleanup, walk the room with your installer and look closely at every seam and corner. We back the hanging with a 1-year workmanship guarantee.
Your instant estimate prices the room in front of you. In Rocky Point, what the wall is made of belongs on the list of things that move the number:
Drywall or a factory panel under the paper
Wall area and ceiling height
The paper: vinyl and grasscloth each hang at their own pace, and unpasted papers hang differently
A large pattern repeat, which adds waste
Old paper to strip and repairs underneath it
On a manufactured-home panel, any liner or bonding primer needed first
A drywall room in a site-built house is priced on the same factors as a drywall room anywhere else we work. Rocky Point is about 16 road miles from our shop, and any effect that has on the price will be spelled out on the estimate. The paper itself stays outside the quote unless you buy it through us. Once you accept a quote, that price holds. Military households receive 10% off.

Walls you aren't papering, painted by the same company that hangs the paper.

We source trade-line papers and track down a pattern you spotted elsewhere, ordered to the roll count your room needs.

Each town on our service list has its own page, Rocky Point included.
From our Wilmington base, we serve Rocky Point and the surrounding Pender County area, plus the rest of the coastal Carolinas corridor.
