Kure Beach looks different from its neighbor to the north. A state law passed in 2006 holds new buildings in town to 35 feet, and the Census Bureau's 2020-2024 American Community Survey counts 74.9 percent of homes as detached houses, with only 2.2 percent in buildings of ten or more units. In Carolina Beach, that larger-building share is about a quarter.
For a painting job, that changes the scale and the paperwork. In a detached house, a repaint can take in a whole floor or the whole interior rather than one unit, and there's no tower management setting the hours. We plan a house room by room, so the rooms you need stay usable while others are painted.
Parking runs on its own calendar here. The town has charged for parking from mid-March through September, from 8am to 6pm, a shorter season than the March-to-October one in Carolina Beach and Wrightsville Beach. A whole-house repaint booked in October through early March avoids the question.
Ages vary, too. About 23 percent of Kure Beach homes predate 1980 and nearly 42 percent were built in 2000 or later, so prep ranges from layered old paint to builder finishes on young drywall. The town is about 15 miles south of Wilmington.
We hang wallpaper for a living, and paper is unforgiving of a bad wall, so our painting starts with the wall too. The person painting your house works for us and is covered by our $2M general liability and workers' comp. For the general process, see our interior painting page. On a whole-house job, the same painter usually carries the work from the first room to the last.
Walls, ceilings, trim and doors, chosen room by room
Holes, dings and old patches filled and sanded
Trim caulked where it has pulled away from the wall
Stains primed so they don't bleed through
Doors and trim painted after the walls, with hardware protected
Floors and furniture protected first
A sheen picked for each surface
Cleanup and a final check, in person or by photo

A whole-house job gets a room order before it starts: bedrooms you need tonight go first or last, and the kitchen stays usable. Stairwells and two-story spaces get their own setup and their own line on the estimate. Ceilings in each room go before the walls, so a drip never lands on a finished wall surface. One color family carried through the house keeps touch-ups simple later, which helps if you rent the house out part of the year. In a detached house there's usually no building management involved, so the schedule is mostly yours.

Before day one you get a room order, so you know which spaces are out of use on which days and where the crew starts and finishes.

If the house is a second home, booking outside the paid-parking months can keep the job simpler. Tell us when the house is free, and the job is planned around those weeks.

A painter who stops calling back is a familiar complaint. We answer, we ring before the crew leaves Wilmington, and the start date we give is the one we keep.

Adding a papered accent wall or powder room? Our installers and painter work from one schedule, so the paint is done and cured before paper goes up.
From the first conversation to the finished room.
01A few rooms, one floor or the whole house. Add phone photos of the rooms and any stairwell, plus the weeks that work for you.
02We confirm scope, colors and sheens, then set the order the rooms will be painted in and the start date.
03You get a call as the crew heads south. Each room is covered, prepped and painted, then cleaned before the next one starts.
04Walk through every room with the painter, or get photos if you're away, with touch-ups done before the crew leaves.
We don't publish per-room prices. You send the scope, and the estimate comes back for your house. For a Kure Beach house, these move it most:
Scope: a few rooms, a floor or the whole interior
Square footage and ceiling heights, including any stairwell or two-story room
Surfaces: walls alone, or ceilings, trim and doors as well
Prep, from older layered paint to builder finishes on newer drywall
Furnished rooms or an empty house
Colors and sheens
Painting a whole house in one job is usually more efficient than room-by-room visits spread over months, because setup and cleanup happen once. If you'd rather spread it out, we can quote the house in phases and you choose the order. The figure you're quoted is the figure you pay, and military households are offered 10% off.

Paper for a powder room or accent wall, with prep matched to your home's age.

Pick a pattern to go with the new paint, previewed on your own walls.

Carolina Beach, Wrightsville Beach and the rest of our area.
From our Wilmington base, we serve Kure Beach and the surrounding New Hanover County area, plus the rest of the coastal Carolinas corridor.
Send the scope and the weeks that suit you.
